With MICRO SCULPT, Alpha Skin in Bonn-Bad Godesberg extends its range of treatments with a concept that combines medical microneedling with the collagen stimulator Sculptra® (poly-L-lactic acid). The focus is on targeted support of the body's own regeneration processes: for a long-term improvement in skin quality and a natural appearance.
Treatment at Alpha Skin: Microneedling in Bonn – information and appointment
This article explains factually what MICRO SCULPT is, what it aims for, where its limits lie and what the treatment costs. One special point first: the combination does not automatically correspond to the approved use of Sculptra® and has not been sufficiently studied scientifically. We explain this in detail before every treatment.
What is MICRO SCULPT?
MICRO SCULPT combines two different approaches of aesthetic medicine:
- Medical microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body's own repair processes, which can contribute to the formation of new collagen and to an improvement in skin structure.
- Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biostimulator. After correct injection it can stimulate the body's own collagen formation over several months.
Both procedures aim to improve skin quality in a natural way. Whether and how they are combined for you is assessed individually by the physician. You can read more about microneedling on its own in the article Microneedling in Bonn.
Important for classification: use outside the approval
Sculptra® is intended for certain injection applications. The combination with microneedling, i.e. introduction via micro-channels, does not automatically correspond to the approved use (off-label) and has not been sufficiently studied scientifically. MICRO SCULPT is therefore carried out exclusively after medical assessment of suitability and risks. Where required, you receive off-label information: what is known, what is not and what alternatives exist.
What advantages can MICRO SCULPT offer?
Depending on skin condition and treatment concept, the following improvements can be aimed for:
- Collagen stimulation: support of the body's own collagen formation
- Firmer skin appearance: improvement of firmness and elasticity
- Finer lines: possible softening of superficial fine lines
- Refined skin structure: a more even and smoother skin appearance
- Natural radiance: a fresher complexion without an artificial-looking change
Whether and how clearly this shows varies from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. The body builds collagen only slowly; results develop over weeks and months.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
MICRO SCULPT is aimed at patients who want to counteract first signs of skin ageing or improve their skin quality in a targeted way. The concept is particularly interesting for declining skin elasticity, fine lines and an uneven skin appearance.
The treatment is not an option, or only after careful medical consideration, in cases including pregnancy and breastfeeding, inflammation or infection in the treatment area, a tendency towards conspicuous scarring, blood clotting disorders or anticoagulant medication and autoimmune diseases. It is also not the method of choice for deep wrinkles or marked volume loss; there are other procedures for those, for example fillers.
How the consultation works
- Skin analysis and consultation: The physician assesses skin appearance, wishes, pre-existing conditions and medication and explains what is realistically achievable.
- Assessment of suitability: She clarifies whether MICRO SCULPT is an option for you and openly addresses risks and the particularities of the application.
- Treatment concept: Which treatment steps make medical sense is decided after the personal skin analysis and medical consultation. The physician sets the number and intervals of sessions individually.
Possible side effects and risks
After microneedling, redness, slight swelling and a feeling of tightness in the skin are possible, as well as small bruises. After injection of poly-L-lactic acid, swelling, tenderness, bruising and palpable nodules can occur; inflammation or infection occurs rarely. As the combination via micro-channels has not been sufficiently studied, there can also be risks that are not yet known. We discuss all risks in the medical consultation before you decide.
MICRO SCULPT, microneedling, PRP or skin boosters?
The procedures pursue related goals in different ways. Microneedling alone stimulates the skin through controlled micro-injuries. PRP therapy uses the body's own blood plasma for this. Skin boosters bring hyaluronic acid into the skin and aim mainly at moisture and skin quality. MICRO SCULPT adds a collagen stimulator to microneedling. Which option suits your skin and your goals we clarify in the consultation.
Frequently asked questions
How many sessions are needed? The physician sets this individually. The number and intervals depend on the condition of the skin and on the treatment concept.
When does a result show? The body's own collagen formation takes time and continues over several months. When and how clearly something changes varies from person to person.
Is MICRO SCULPT an approved standard treatment? No. Sculptra® is intended for certain injection applications. The combination with microneedling lies outside this approval (off-label) and has not been sufficiently studied scientifically. We explain this beforehand.
Can MICRO SCULPT be combined with other treatments? The physician assesses this in each individual case and sets the order and intervals.
Cost
MICRO SCULPT is an individual treatment. The price is above that of a pure microneedling treatment, which starts at Alpha Skin from €150, and depends on the treatment concept. We tell you the exact price beforehand in the consultation. Health insurers do not usually cover aesthetic treatments.
